Background |
I have an MA in translation and interpreting and work as a professional translator from French, Italian and English into Spanish, my mother tongue. In 2000 I started studying translation in Malaga, Spain and took up a job as official tour guide and interpreter working at the Madinat-al-Zahra archaeological site in Cordoba. In 2002 I spent a year in Brussels at the Institut Libre Marie Haps, one of the top European translation and interpreting schools. In 2004 I joined the Lycée Fermat in Toulouse as a Spanish teaching assistant. Having thoroughly enjoyed my job and life in Toulouse, I decided to move there permanently. The following year, I enrolled at the University of Toulouse Le Mirail for an MA in translation that confirmed my aptitude and taste for translation. After my Master’s degree, I went to Pisa, Italy, for a year to soak up Italian culture and keep up my source language skills. Back in Toulouse in 2007, I set up Ester Habas Traduction and joined the French professional translators’ association, SFT. |
